Capewell was established in 1881 as a manufacturer of horseshoe nails which were sold to a worldwide market. During World War II, Capewell was asked to design and manufacture hardware for the new Airborne Infantry, thus our Parachute Hardware Division became a reality. By the end of the war, a full line of connecting hardware, V-Rings, D-Rings, Ejector Snaps and finally the Capewell Canopy Release were but a few of our products. This Canopy Release catapulted Capewell's name into the world of Airborne operations. Today, it is still utilized the world over and is known for the quality and reliability which is "Capewell."
